“Rafael is one of the best drummers I have ever played with. He brings to the table a
DEEP Knowledge of Brazilian music, but also has an incredible concept as a jazz
drummer. The marriage of these two sounds make Rafael one of the most unique voices on the drums I have ever heard. We have recorded two albums together and are about to record a third. Also, I’d like to say that he has an incredible home studio setup, and really gets a studio quality sound from his home.”

“One of the greatest talents I met during my almost fifty-year career in Brazilian Music
is named Rafael Barata, an exquisite drummer, percussionist, and most of all, real musician, presented to me by another genius, the master guitarist and composer Lula Galvão. Such my enchant for Rafael’s finesse, technique, sense of dynamics and technical
sophistication and perfectionism, prompted me to invite him to join me in my solo project, CelloSam3aTrio, as well as to invite him to countless recordings that I have produced the past fifteen years. Complete and extremely competent musician, Rafael brings with great spontaneity in his art, the Brazilian taste of samba such as very few can do it.”

“Talking about Rafael Barata is talking about a great music master. Its technical
mastery and its elegance, precision, finesse, musicality, in the end, make him one of the greatest in his instrument, the drums. And I'm not the only one who says it. It is not idly, for more than 10 years he is part of almost all of my projects,
guaranteeing, therefore, the level of excellence necessary to achieve success. Having recently been nominated several times for the Latin Grammy and the Grammy,
I have much to thank this splendid musician.”

nominated, more than 50 years in music industry.

Questions about booking your first session?

Our Executive Producers are here to walk you through the process.

How do remote sessions work?

After you’ve booked your remote session, there are three simple steps in the preparation, completion and delivery of your files.

1. Preparation
Download and install Zoom (https://zoom.us/download). Ensure you have a stable internet connection (we recommend using an ethernet cable) and good quality headphones or speakers to enjoy your experience.

2. Remote Session
Attend your session live and collaborate with the artist you booked.

3. Download your files
Download your files after the session. You will receive the download link within 24h after the session!

How far along in my track do I need to be before booking a session?

At any stage. It can even just be an idea or a simple voice recording. Our resident producers will take your idea and turn it into a reality. Our average full production cost is €399, but if you’re not sure or want to get a specific quote, just get in touch.

How far in advance can I book?

You can book up to one week in advance. We don’t accept bookings fewer than 7 days before any session. That’s because we want to give our residents enough time to fully prepare for your session. To make it one worth having and remembering!

What happens after I make a booking?

We’ll ask you to fill out a super quick form to give us more info about your track or album. You can tell us details like the track name, bpm and a reference track. We’ll also provide you with a link where you can send us your music files (i.e. any bounces, DAW session file and music score if you have one).

What happens during my session?

Before the session, you’ll receive links to join the live HQ audio and video stream for the session. Please access these links at least 5 minutes before the session is due to begin, to mitigate any technical issues you may encounter.
During the session you will typically introduce yourself and the musical piece, chat about your intentions, arrangement etc, and we jump right into recording or producing. A 30 minutes recording session usually allows for 2 to 3 full takes with time left over to go back over specific parts. We’ll wrap up and talk about some next steps to get complete.

What's the sound quality like during my session?

You will be able to listen to the high quality audio feed directly from the artist’s DAW. It’s like you’re right there in the studio - no sound compromise!

What do I receive after my session?

You will receive every take that the artist recorded, according to the audio specifications that you have requested. These will be the raw session files as well as bounces of each recorded track (wav). You will receive an email with the download link within 24h.

My track is already under development. What’s the correct format to send to you?

We accept WAV or AIFF files at sampling rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96kHz, and bit depths of either 16, 24 or 32 bit. Note that for orchestra recording sessions, we only accept 48khz at 24bits. Please supply us with mono or stereo files, clearly named and without audio clipping. You will need to provide multi-tracks that are consolidated or bounced from the start point of your song (bar 1 beat 1 or start time code). All files must be of the same duration, sample rate and bit depth. Please feel free to contact us if you're not sure.

What’s the cancellation policy?

We offer a full refund on cancellations up to 7 days prior to the scheduled recording session. Within 7 days of the session, cancellations will incur a 50% session fee. In the case of a no-show, you will not be refunded. Our satisfaction guarantee means if you’re not happy with your session, just let us know and we’ll issue a refund.
