Reviews
“Zlaya is in a league completely of his own when it comes to mixing and mastering. 30 years ago I was lucky enough to get to work with legendary Australian producer Tony
Cohen (responsible for the sound of Birthday Party and Nick Cave). Tony was, to me, such a genius that everyone I worked with after him felt like a compromise; that is until I met Zlaya. I have been working with Zlaya since 2010 and I am constantly awestruck by the depth and emotional tension of his mixes. His love of great analogue gear and the way he weaves analogue, digital and all manner of electronic elements into his mixes blows me away. After the mix, his approach to mastering is so sensitive to what's in the recordings just amazes me. People of his calibre are few and far between. In fact there really aren't that many of them around. I feel lucky to be working with him.”
Dan Tuffy

“Zlaya has an uncanny ability to recognise and enhance the most important elements
of any track. His style is bold but nuanced, I’ve learnt to always trust his judgement. Working with Zlaya is strange... he always manages to teach me something about my own music.”
Owen Pratt

“Very happy. Not sure how you did it but you made it happen. Thank you for everything. Amazing work! Never want to work with anyone else.”
Brandon, Walker Landing

If you're looking to mix or master your track, Zlaya is one of the best in the industry.
Working as a producer, mixing, mastering and recording engineer for over 30 years, Zlaya has collaborated with musicians and filmmakers from all corners of the globe and has over 500 albums to his name to date.
Known for his unorthodox approach, Zlaya’s signature sound is a considered conflict of craft, precision and minimalism that is often played against an unconventional note. His experimental yet traditional approach to production results in a harmonious contradiction and a contemporary yet timeless feel. The passion for analogue, vintage equipment, handcrafted machinery and the latest digital technology has resulted in an esoteric collection of some of the finest processors available.
Working between London and Amsterdam, Zlaya began a 360-degree collaboration with prominent independent label Konkurrent which led to the critically acclaimed series of albums In The Fishtank. After a short period he established a state-of-the-art mastering and mixing facility, aptly named ‘LOUD!’, which he ran from the famous Studio 150.
Recent years have seen him working in NYC and LA on film post-production and delivering spatial audio productions for VR. This led to an in-depth investigation into spatial recording and mixing techniques.
Connecting sound to emotion is at the centre of Zlaya’s production values. His insight into the entire process, from initial conception to final master, enables him to help clear the way for a unique vision for each and every project.
You can book Zlaya to mix or master your track today, from €39.

Questions about booking your first session?
Our Executive Producers are here to walk you through the process.
How do remote sessions work?
After you’ve booked your remote session, there are three simple steps in the preparation, completion and delivery of your files.
1. Preparation
Download and install Zoom (https://zoom.us/download). Ensure you have a stable internet connection (we recommend using an ethernet cable) and good quality headphones or speakers to enjoy your experience.
2. Remote Session
Attend your session live and collaborate with the artist you booked.
3. Download your files
Download your files after the session. You will receive the download link within 24h after the session!

How far along in my track do I need to be before booking a session?
At any stage. It can even just be an idea or a simple voice recording. Our resident producers will take your idea and turn it into a reality. Our average full production cost is €399, but if you’re not sure or want to get a specific quote, just get in touch.

How far in advance can I book?
You can book up to one week in advance. We don’t accept bookings fewer than 7 days before any session. That’s because we want to give our residents enough time to fully prepare for your session. To make it one worth having and remembering!

What happens after I make a booking?
We’ll ask you to fill out a super quick form to give us more info about your track or album. You can tell us details like the track name, bpm and a reference track. We’ll also provide you with a link where you can send us your music files (i.e. any bounces, DAW session file and music score if you have one).

What happens during my session?
Before the session, you’ll receive links to join the live HQ audio and video stream for the session. Please access these links at least 5 minutes before the session is due to begin, to mitigate any technical issues you may encounter.
During the session you will typically introduce yourself and the musical piece, chat about your intentions, arrangement etc, and we jump right into recording or producing. A 30 minutes recording session usually allows for 2 to 3 full takes with time left over to go back over specific parts. We’ll wrap up and talk about some next steps to get complete.

What's the sound quality like during my session?
You will be able to listen to the high quality audio feed directly from the artist’s DAW. It’s like you’re right there in the studio - no sound compromise!

What do I receive after my session?
You will receive every take that the artist recorded, according to the audio specifications that you have requested. These will be the raw session files as well as bounces of each recorded track (wav). You will receive an email with the download link within 24h.

My track is already under development. What’s the correct format to send to you?
We accept WAV or AIFF files at sampling rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96kHz, and bit depths of either 16, 24 or 32 bit. Note that for orchestra recording sessions, we only accept 48khz at 24bits. Please supply us with mono or stereo files, clearly named and without audio clipping. You will need to provide multi-tracks that are consolidated or bounced from the start point of your song (bar 1 beat 1 or start time code). All files must be of the same duration, sample rate and bit depth. Please feel free to contact us if you're not sure.

What’s the cancellation policy?
We offer a full refund on cancellations up to 7 days prior to the scheduled recording session. Within 7 days of the session, cancellations will incur a 50% session fee. In the case of a no-show, you will not be refunded. Our satisfaction guarantee means if you’re not happy with your session, just let us know and we’ll issue a refund.
